Dr. Michael Kelly

Dr. Michael Kelly, Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Medical Director of The Kelly Eye Center is committed to providing quality eye care in a compassionate manner. Dr. Kelly received his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. His internship in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Ophthalmology was completed at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. Dr. Kelly received his refractive surgery training through Dr. J. Charles Casebeer, a world-renowned refractive surgeon. He was certified on the Excimer Laser in 1994 by Dr. David F. Muller, and was the first surgeon to perform LASIK in the Raleigh area.

Dr. Kelly is also a leader in small-incision cataract surgery, which offers many benefits including quick visual recovery. He is one of the most experienced surgeons in the Triangle area having performed more than 22,000 procedures.

Dr. Kelly continues to pursue the latest innovations and is proud to offer his patients with the safest and most advanced technology available today. Due to his extensive surgical experience and excellent outcomes he was chosen to be among the nation's first trained to perform the Visian ICL, a corrective lens to treat nearsightedness.

Active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and the North Carolina Society of Eye Physician Surgeons.
